I’m Robin Bennett, and I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). I am also an author and a consultant for pet care facilities on the subjects of dog daycare, training and off-leash dog play. In my 20 years in the pet care industry, I’ve become an advocate of safe interactions between dogs and people and between dogs and other dogs.

My philosophy is that if you are going to be around dogs, especially if you are in the pet care industry caring for dogs, they should leave you and your facility behaviorally better (and certainly not worse!) than when they came to you. I’m Susan Briggs, founder of Crystal Canine. After 12 years owning and operating Urban Tails, a large dog daycare, boarding, grooming and training center in Houston, TX I find my passion has transitioned specifically to off-leash dog play and helping fellow small business owners. My role as a consultant, author and speaker provide many opportunities to continue learning and contributing to safe dog play operations. As a recognized leader in the dog daycare industry my goal is to make all off-leash play programs safer.

The people I meet in pet care motivate me to make a difference by providing tools to make your job as a business owner easier. My frustrations as owner of Urban Tails came from a lack of training materials for my staff and frequent financial stress. Using my educational background in accounting, my study of social dog behavior and my gifts for training others I now create programs and tools specifically designed for the pet industry.
